:: BRANCH OFFICE A foreign company must register a branch office in Egypt if the company has a contract with an Egyptian private or public sector party to perform work in Egypt , such as construction, concession and management agreements. It is important to note that, a branch can engage in commercial, financial, industrial and contractual activities, however, these will be limited to the work to be performed under its contract in Egypt . Establishing a branch requires the approval of the Minister of Supply & Internal Trade, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the Minister supervising the relevant field of activity. A branch must also be registered with the Commercial Registry and with the Companies Department. Such registration is valid for five years.
