:: COUNTER TRADE The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade (MEFT) issued Ministerial Decision No 275 in May 1991 promulgating regulations under Law 118/75, which included rules for barter. Companies or individuals involved in barter must be enrolled in the exporters' and importers' register. Barter deals must be balanced in terms of value for the exchange of commodities, services or both and all deals must be concluded within 5 years. Contracts and any subsequent amendments, have to be submitted to the Foreign Trade Sector of the MEFT. Customs have to inform the Foreign Trade Sector of all imports and exports involving barter.
